Check out these recent articles/interviews covering some of what I've been up to …
"12:30 p.m. Carson McHone (Tito’s): Continue your tour of sounds from the actual city limits with the rising singer-songwriter’s intelligent alt-country."
- ACL Fest 2017: Here's Who You Should Go See Austin American Statesman
"This is the story of a woman evolving. Which sometimes can come with a lot of pushback. Country music fans tend to like things in small, edible bites. There’s no doubt that McHone is beautiful, or that she can play well, or that she can write a good song. But now, she’s ready to prove that she has something to say."
-Dive Star Bar Rachel Hurley
"Carson McHone’s 2015 debut full-length, Goodluck Man, established the native singer-songwriter as one of the capital’s rising country stars, but she’s got broader sights set for her follow-up. She began working with producer Mike McCarthy almost two years ago when he still lived here, and recently finished recording at his new Nashville studio. It breathed new life into these songs, which pushed in all kinds of different directions. It doesn’t sound like throwback country, because I didn’t want to make that kind of record. Yet it’s not a departure, really. I think it just sounds a little more mature.”
- Doug Freeman Austin Chronicle
I'll be playing in the round Friday September 15th, 2017 at 5:30 pm at The 30A Songwriter In The Round: L27 Rooftop Bar at the Westin Hotel (807 Clark Place, 27th Floor, Nashville, TN 37203 Floor 27) with Webb Wilder, Levi Lowrey and Seth Walker.

Well, it's been a lovely month here in Nashville, got to catch up with some old friends, meet some new ones, and play some great shows with some very talented artists, but I've been away from home too long! First set of Austin shows is just around the corner and I'm very excited to announce my buddy,BEN BALLINGER, and I have set up two triple bill shows for the first weekend in September where we'll share the stage with our good friend, JAKE PALESCHIC, of Fort Worth, Texas.

The following night, FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 2ND, we'll be joined on stage by our favorite musicians to put on a full band show, late night, at THE BLACKHEART down on Rainy Street.
Spread the word, we hope to see y'all soon and can't wait to introduce our friend Jake to the Austin scene, come out and give him a warm welcome!

Bucket Full of Nails review of "Goodluck Man":
And here's what Doug Freeman of The Austin Chronicle had to say about "Goodluck Man"
This week has been pretty amazing. The support that has poured out from all corners this week has been incredible, from radio to newsprint, to my friends and family, to complete strangers, and and I can't tell you how much it means, and I want to thank everyone for any contribution, big or small, for kind words, for sharing the music, for dancing, for coming out to the shows, for supporting the venues we play at, the bands we play with, all of it, every bit, counts!
Today is the day! It's been a long time coming and now my first full length album, "Goodluck Man", is officially out in the world.
I'm proud of these tunes, honored to have some of my favorite musicians on this recording, and ready to share it!
Check out the Austin Chronicle cover article:
And the Austin American Statesman:
Thank you Mohawk Austin for letting us party down in one of the best sounding venues in town!
Special Thanks as well to Porter, Girl Pilot (Sahara Smith), and Stephen Sowan. beautiful night.

We are home safe and sound from our longest tour so far. We drove through the mountains, went all over the midwest and through parts of Canada and played some amazing shows! Thanks so much to the Shakey Graves crew for having us along for the ride, what an honor to travel and play alongside such pros! Cheers to all our road friends!
It's back to work now at the home base, preparing for the release of the new record, "Goodluck Man". Keep an eye out for new show announcements, record release date, and in-store and radio performances!
in the meantime, here's a great review of a show we did with Shakey Graves in Detroit at The Majestic Theater and some photos from the road...
We're hitting the road again...
Stoked to be direct support for our buddy Shakey Graves for the beginning of this next run, and honored to be returning to Toronto to perform at NXNE again, this year with the full band! Check out the dates below and help us spread the word.
Very honored to have been a part of Shakey Graves' Austin City Limits live taping, what a special night! Cheers and many thanks to fellow Austin, TX hometown band!
Read some reviews of the taping by visiting the links below...
"Especially welcome was guest vocalist Carson McHone, whose turn on 'Dearly Departed' evoked memories of Emmylou Harris dueting with Bob Dylan in the latter's 'Desire' era. She and Graves enjoyed an easy onstage camaraderie that begs for more collaboration.."
"The highlight of the taping came with closer 'Dearly Departed' for which he introduced rising local songwriter Carson McHone to duet. She's due a breakout this year when she releases her new album. McHone's hardened twang played perfect foil for Graves..."
Our latest tour was a success…Mitchell took most of these shots, thanks Mitchell.
